| Q) Pine Bark Extract and Grape seed Extract which is better? A) Both contai similar types of flavone antioxidants, but Grape Seed version is many times cheaper though. I recommend Grape Seed Extract. Q) My doctor recommends that I should rely on fish for Omega 3 instead of taking supplements, what do you think? A) In my biased opinion, I believe in this case food may not be enough. Especially local fishes, those that are caught in warm climate have little body fat to contribute to your Omega 3 intake. Farmed fishes are almost near zero in Omega 3 content because of the feeding used. Q) Why did you say Arginine is the active ingredient in NO (Nitric Oxide) supplement? A) A decent NO supplement contains 5g of L-Arginine to give it some significant effect. L-Arginine can work well on its own. Most research suggest 5-8g to be effective. This is why I suggest people who are looking for results from NO formulas to just switch to L-Arginine tablets. Q) What supplement is good for muscle soreness? A) One of the newest supplements I get positive feedback is Ginger 6:1. It has also been proven to be good for joint pain making it a good complementary with glucosamine sulphate. Q) Should I avoid Soy in my diet as it has been reported to reduce sperm counts? A) Soy food contains something called phyto estrogen that mimic the action of real estrogen in the body. It is about 50 times weaker than the real one. I personally do not think there is a need to avoid soy food altogether except men who are trying to have kids and have yet to be successful. Q) I regularly experience bleeding gums when brushing my teeth, what do you recommend? A) Aside from seeing your dentist for advice, you can also try some vitamin C supplements. I personally recommend you try taking 1000mg of vitamin C supplement a day to see if the bleeding goes away. Q) I read that fish oil can increase blood clotting time, is it safe? A) I recommend taking no more than 8 food grade fish oil caps or 4 pharmaceutical grade fish oil caps per day to be very safe. Q) Is timed-released multi vitamins better than regular ones? A) I do not think so. There has been reports of timed released tablet that did not disintegrate properly and came out of the body intact. I believe most supplements should be taken with a meal and supplements when taken with a meal will stay in the stomach for a few hours for good absorption by the body. |
