Woody Bands™ offer you the advantages of using
weights, but without the downside.  With bands,
there are no weights to store or weight-related
accidents.  Throw them in your gym bag and you
have a portable gym that can go with you anywhere
(e.g. overseas trip).  Or take them to your local gym
to utilize Woody Bands™ with weights.

Woody bands comes in six different resistances.
They vary in thickness and width, which determines
their pound resistance.  (The greater the stretching
distance of the band while exercising, the greater
the resistance load of the band.)  All bands are 40
inches long, seamless latex rubber constructed in
layers to prevent breakage.

Usage Guidelines
Below are some very general guidelines for band
usage.  Trial and error may be necessary to find the
band best suited to your particular fitness level and
usage.

Mini and Super-mini Bands (#1 & #2) are best for
general conditioning, rehabilitation, stretching,
jumping, speed training, aerobics, and for lifters as
assistance for the upper body to increase the
resistance for bicep and triceps.  Either band is
great for beginners and light weight lifters. Both can
be used to safely increase the intensity of a workout
without adding additional weights to a bar.  For the
stronger lifter, they will add considerable resistance
to bicep and tricep exercises.

Small and Medium Bands (#3 & #4) can be used by
stronger benchers, and with exercises involving the
lower body, calves, quads, hamstring and glutes.

Large and X-Large Bands ( #5 & 6)  are usually
used for obtaining maximum resistance with
squats, deadlifts, leg presses and shrugs.

These bands can be used for upper body exercise
by themselves or when looped over the barbell and
combined with weights like many world-class
power and weight lifters do. Buy a pair for
strengthening. Also great for agility drills when
looped around the ankles and each foot.

Resistance bands used by many sport teams, as
well as powerlifters. They can also be found at
most major colleges and universities across the
USA.

Resistance bands are also beneficial for stretching
and flexibility. Eight to 15 minutes a day is
recommended for stretching but even a quick
stretch that gets the blood flowing can help quite
beneficial to improve recovery. Lack of flexibility is a
major problem for young and elderly, including
athletes.

Other Benefits
Do squats and dead lift with no pressure on the
knees or low back.

Change in resistance curve can 'shock' the
targetted muscles.

Develop stabilizer muscles

Train for strength in legs and upper body without
damaging and overloading joints.

Safe for power, explosiveness, strength training.

Lightweight and portable - great for travelers!

Useful in improving flexibility
Ultimatesg's comments:

I remember using my first
rubber training device from
Weider called "Power-X", a
thick latex, X-shaped, with
moulded built-in latex
handle on all 4 sides.
Something I love to use it
as an assisting apparatus
for my training and
stretching. After they were
not being manufacturered
any more, I was left with
those springs chest
expander as a substitute.
The springs can sometime
pinch your chest hairs.

It took us another 20 years
before a better invention
comes along. Entering high
quality latex  looped bands.
I find these resistance
bands to be of the highest
quality. They take up little
space and are highly
portable.

I especially love to take
them with me for overseas
trips for enjoyable and yet
effective sets of biceps,
triceps, deltoids laterals for
all the 3 heads. The bigger
bands are great for the
back exercises. Just
looped them to your feet
and you can perform bent
over or seated row even
squats.

They are also great to
change the resistance
curve for regular exercises
like bench presses and
squats to help you break
new records. Just looped
the to any solid structures,
dumbbells, your feet or
even across your back.
They are very versatile and
useful accessories. Just
use your imagination and
be creative! They can
virtually be looped to any
sturdy structure to let you
work any muscles in your
body. Great for
strengthening your rotary
cuffs muscles to prevent
shoulder injuries too!

Great for flexibility and
stretching too. Finally
something better than
"Power-X" is borned!
