- Promote better blood glucose control - Low glycaemic Index of meal - Reduce insulin surge Psyllium is the richest source of soluble fibre known. Psyllium husk increase the viscosity of gastric content and increase gastric emptying time. This result in more gradual rise in blood glucose level (up to 20%) and improve the lipid and lipoprotein profile. Psyllium Husk should be taken before meals. About 5g is needed per dose to give good effect. The addition of psyllium to a traditional diet has been shown to be safe, well tolerated, and improves glycemic and lipid control.
